We had an excellent celebration on Saturday night in the Bowling Club Pavilion. We had a gorgeous meal all prepared by our own Liam Igoe and Pat O’Mahony, thank you so much lads for the huge effort you put in to make it a great night. When word gets out the boys will be inundated with catering requests. Thanks to Nicola, Paula, Eamon and Liza who made a lovely job in setting up the room.

Following the meal we had a fun table quiz organised by Liza and James, questions were nicely geared towards the crowd.

Club Championship

The club championship is the annual Stratford competition that is open to all members with the usual categories, women’s singles and doubles, men’s singles and doubles and a mixed doubles competition.

We encourage all members to give it a go, even if you are new to the club, it will give you an idea what standard you are, you may surprise yourself and be a lot better than you think. It’s a also a bit of fun and a good way of getting to know other players in the club, for arranging future games.

You can download the entry form here Stratford championship entry form 2018

There are also forms at the clubhouse and on the website. Closing date is this Friday August 3rd and draw will be made over the weekend and posted in the clubhouse when complete

Guest Membership

On the advice of our insurance provider we are introducing a new method for overseeing guests using the club facilities. We will now ask guests to fill out a day membership form and pay €10 fee for adults €5 for juniors. This will effectively make them a club member for the day and they will be covered by our insurance policy. The same guest can only play twice in one calendar month.

We will leave forms and envelopes at the main notice board and we will have a letterbox where the forms can be deposited. You can also download the form here Guest-Membership-Form

Grass Courts Opening Day

Thanks to all who turned out for the grass court opening day, the weather held up so we managed to test out the grass. Thanks to all who brought food and made it an enjoyable day. Roll on more sunny days so we can play on the grass.
