We’re asking each club to enter a six person team – consisting of one men’s doubles, one women’s
doubles and one mixed doubles pairing – with a total combined current league standard of 21 or over.
This means that while the average standard will be between Class 3 and Class 4 (3 x Class 3 = 9,
3 x Class 4 = 12, combined score of 21), there will also be scope for players of higher levels to sample the
delights of our event provided their relative strength is compensated for elsewhere on the team.
The format will be two round robins (4 short games plus tie-breaker) with the top two teams from each
proceeding to knock-out semi-finals. All matches will be played on our 3 grass doubles courts (weather
and schedule permitting – we also have access to 4 adjacent hard courts which we can press into service
if needed). The event will commence at 9.00am sharp with Finals anticipated for 5.30pm, to be followed
by a social event.
Each club is asked to make a donation of €250 per team entered, which will also include access to a BBQ,
refreshments and musical entertainment on the day. Payment can be made by cheque or via our club’s
online secure payment system at www.stratfordtennis.ie.
Final closing date for receipt of entry and payment of donation is Sunday June 30th – but entry will
be on “first come first served basis”. Limitations of time and space mean we can only accommodate a
maximum of 12 teams, and we have received a very warm response to our initial query so we’re anticipating
that we may have filled our draw before that closing date.
