Stratford LTC is located on Grosvenor Square, a leafy enclave of listed Victorian residences just off Leinster Road in Rathmines, Dublin 6.
There is only one vehicular entrance to the Square, from half way up or down Leinster Road, but there is additional pedestrian access via Grosvenor Lane (also off Leinster Road) or Mount Drummond (off Harold’s Cross Road).
Despite the tranquility of our setting, we are one of Dublin city’s most central tennis clubs – halfway between the bustling inner suburbs of Rathmines and Harolds’ Cross, just a few minutes south of the Grand Canal and Portobello.
Our entrance is on the East Side of Grosvenor Square via a passcode-protected gate. All members are issued with this code and also with a key of our clubhouse which has changing and showering facilities as well as a kitchen and function room.
(Kenilworth Bowls Club, with whom we share the Square, have their entrance on the South Side of the Square, directly facing the main avenue from Leinster Road. If approaching from this direction don’t go in their entrance; instead follow the footpath around to the right until you come to our gate.)
There’s on-street pay-and-display on the Square (don’t chance not buying a ticket – our central location means we’re one of Dublin’s prime clamping zones).
We’re very accessible by Dublin bus to either Rathmines (15, 15a, 15b, 65, 65b and142 – ask to get off at the Town Hall) or Harold’s Cross (16, 16c, 49 – ask for Leinster Road).
